Refugee Council Services
The Refugee Council is the largest independent refugee charity in the UK providing advice and assistance to asylum seekers and refugees in London, the East of England, West Midlands and Yorkshire and Humberside.
We provide free advice and information through our One Stop Services where you can meet face to face with an adviser to discuss any problems you may have as an asylum seeker or refugee. We have on-site interpreters and bi-lingual staff to meet your language needs.
Refugee Council is committed to providing fair and equal treatment to all service users whatever their race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or political belief.
Important notices:
Refugee Council can advise you on your entitlements and the meaning of laws. We don’t provide legal advice or legal representation but if we cannot help, we will provide contact details of legal representatives or will refer you to them.
The Refugee Council will advise you in your best interest. We cannot change decisions about your asylum application. We may be able to help with your application for accommodation and living expenses with the UK Border Agency.
Definitions:
The UK Border Agency (UKBA) is an agency of the Home Office which is part of the Government responsible for making decisions on asylum applications.
Support applications are also decided by the UK Border Agency.
